The Yabloko Party appeals for an immediate end to the humiliation of Vasilii AleksanyanWe confirm our assessment of the “Yukos Case” as on the whole being unlawful and aimed far from doing justice and restoring fairness.
However in the case of Vasillii Aleksanyan it about something else about deliberately causing severe suffering to a seriously ill person and creating conditions which are a threat to his life.
Such treatment of anyone is unacceptable even if they are under investigation or in prison. It is a problem of all our society.
Those who state that Vasilli Aleksanyan can get necessary medical aid and an easing of his sufferings in the conditions of a pre- trial detention facility they must present to society convincing evidence. At the moment there is no such evidence.
We demand that Vasillii Aleksanyan has an independent medical examination conducted by specialists who are trusted by his friends and family and representatives of society and the taking of immediate measures to give him the necessary assistance .
We support the position of Vasilli Aleksanyan’s lawyers and relatives who are convinced that such aid can only be provided in a specialised non prison clinic.
We also support the declaration of human rights activists who are calling to an end of the hunger strike protests.
