02/07/2009 - European Court of Human Rights rejects Russia's request for reconsideration of Aleksanyan case
ECHR judgment in Aleksanyan v. Russia now final.The European Court of Human Rights has refused the Russian government's request to refer the case of Aleksanyan v. Russia to the Grand Chamber, confirming that the judgment of 22 December 2008, which secured Aleksanyan's freedom from detention, must stand. The judgment therefore is considered final as of 5 June 2009.
